History of Mausoleum Mage

The temptation of power and immortality has always been strong, and many mages find it very difficult to resist. Many have fallen over the millennia. Some have met their demise, consumed by their pride or killed by the Champions who thwarted their dark plans.

Others, however, have survived through a combination of cunning, luck, and sheer talent. These ancient beings cheat death in various ways, but none of them can offer them true salvation. The best they can hope for is the miserable existence of the undead. But for some of them, even that is enough.

Far into the dark lands of the Stormwind plains, a great mausoleum still stands among the jagged cliffs, though most of its towers and walls have long since crumbled to dust. Once a grand palace built by a vanished civilization, it now serves a far more sinister purpose.

A band of black mages, brought back to life by the necromancer Bad-el-Kazar, have made the Mausoleum their stronghold. Led by a certain Gorgorab, these sorcerers seek to deepen forbidden knowledge and perform vile rituals that will serve their masters' purposes throughout Teleria.

Despite the apparent fragility of their decaying bodies, the mages of the Mausoleum should not be underestimated. Although reluctant to engage their opponents in combat, necromancers are powerful magicians, capable of paralyzing their enemies and increasing the power of their servants.
