While playing Hogwarts Legacy, you'll encounter a wide variety of monsters, from adorable Puffskeins to powerful creatures like the Hippogriff. There are 13 different animals that can be found in total in the game. You can ride some of them!
What are the animals in Hogwarts Legacy
Fantastic beasts roaming the earth were necessary for the wizarding world to be complete. In Hogwarts Legacy, you can encounter a wide variety of beasts. These creatures can be discovered by investigating the surroundings of Hogwarts castle.
The Nab-Sack allows you to catch animals to create a zoo in the Room of Requirement. Imagine it's your own personalized version of Newt Scamander's travel bag. In this sanctuary, you can come into contact with the animals by touching and feeding them.
In Hogwarts Legacy, you can ride one of three monsters. These are Thestrals, Hippogriffs and Graphorns.
Beasts appearing in Hogwarts Legacy

Puffskein
Puffskeins are round, fluffy creatures, tough enough to be thrown but soft enough to be cuddled. Although Puffskeins will eat almost anything, bogies are their favorite dish. They are popular pets among wizarding families because they are low maintenance. The Forbidden Forest and the southern region of Hogwarts are home to these little creatures.
fwooper
A Fwooper is a vibrant bird whose song is known to inspire people. The Hogwarts South area is where you can find them.
Jobberknoll
The Jobberknoll is a small, spotted blue bird that is always silent until it dies. The Forbidden Forest is where you can find them.
Graphhorns
Graphhorns are large, mountain-dwelling creatures with two pointed horns and a tough exterior. Graphhorns use the tentacle-like appendages on their face to catch prey and tend to their young. Although graphornes are renowned for their aggressiveness, there have been times when a wizard or witch has befriended one of them. They can be captured during the main objective of the San Bakar Trial or found in the wild on the Clagmar Coast.
Lunar Calf
The Lunar Calf is a small calf-like creature with large eyes and a shy temper. When the light of the full moon reaches the ground, they can be seen dancing. Both the Forbidden Forest and the Hogwarts South area are home to Moon Calves. Remember that only at night you can see and hear these beats.
Unicorn
The unicorn is a shy and charming horse, with a horn growing on top of it. According to legend, foals have shiny golden coats. These creatures seem to be limited to the Forbidden Forest.
Niffle
The Niffler is a fluffy, mischievous little creature that wreaks havoc by chasing glittering objects which it stores in its marsupial-like pouch. You can find them in the valley of Hogwarts.
purple giant toad
A large magic toad with handy warts for making potions. These toads have a lair in the Forbidden Forest and near Aranshire in the southern part of the map.
Thestral
Only those who have experienced death can see the Thestral, a possessed creature, a winged horse.
In addition to being able to interact with the Thestrals in Hogwarts Legacy, you will also be able to use this animal as a mount if you pre-order the game.
Hippogriff
The beautiful hippogriff is made up of the back of a horse and the front half of an eagle. Anyone approaching a hippogriff should have their respect as they can soar huge distances. They can be discovered in the Upper Dungeon main quest or in the Forbidden Forest side quest.
Kneazle
Kneazles are cat-like creatures with large ears and feathery tails. Although they can be violent, they make wonderful pets if they like wizards or witches. Highly intelligent, kneezles can spot those who are suspicious or untrustworthy. The South Seas bog is where you can find them.
Diricawl
Diricawls are large, fluffy, wingless birds. To escape danger, they have the rare ability to disappear and reappear. These birds were once known to Muggles, who called them Dodos. Nevertheless, Muggles today consider them extinct. There are diricawls in the Hogwarts South area.
