To activate the cheat codes on Valheim, adds the launch option -console in Steam, then open the in-game console with F5 and type devcommands. You will then have access to all the commands listed below.
Some codes are outright cheats, like invincibility mode. Others are just handy, like teleporting your character or revealing the map.
Enable cheat mode:
First of all, you need to open the console of Valheim.
- To do this, add the launch option -console in Steam.
- Right-click on the game, then go to Properties and paste -console in the launch options.
- Once you're in the game, press F5 to open the console. Then type devcommands and press Enter to enable cheat mode.
You can now enter all of the codes below directly into the console. To disable the cheat, type devcommands.
Tape help in the console to view the complete list of commands available in your version of the game.
Useful cheat codes:
These commands mainly add comfort bonuses. Type them into the console once cheat mode is enabled with devcommands. Here is a list of useful commands.

| ghost | Enemies ignore you. This makes it easy to move around among the creatures without being noticed. |
| freefly | Activates a free-moving camera that you can move wherever you want. Perfect for taking photos of your world. |
| ffsmooth [valeur] | Smooths out handheld camera movements for cleaner videos. |
| hair | Change your character's hair. This is a cosmetic item with no in-game benefits. |
| beard | Change your character's beard. It's purely cosmetic. |
| pos | Displays the player's exact coordinates (X, Y, Z). |

| location | Sets your spawn point to your current location. |
| tod [valeur] | Changes the time of day. The value ranges from 0 to 1 (0.5 = noon, 0 or 1 = midnight). |
| env [nom] | Forces a specific weather condition. Example: env Snow for the snow. |
| dpsdebug | Enables damage-per-second display, which is useful for testing your weapons. |
| debugmode | Enables full debug mode. This allows you, among other things, to fly and place objects freely while building. |
| save | Forces the world to be saved immediately. |
| skiptime [secondes] | Advances the time by the number of seconds entered. Handy for getting through the night. |
| resetwind | Resets the world's wind. |
| removedrops | Removes all objects that have fallen to the ground around you. |
| lodbias [valeur] | Adjusts the level of detail in the remote display. Useful for improving performance or visual quality. |
| info | Displays information about the current world (seed, game version, coordinates). |
| listkeys | Displays the progression keys you've unlocked in your game. |
Event commands:
An event triggers a raid by creatures on your base. You can cast one, stop one, or test the ones in the game. The command event followed by a name triggers the selected event.
- randomevent : Triggers a random event at your location.
- event [nom] : triggers the named event. Example: event army_eikthyr.
- stopevent : Stops the current event.
Here are a few valid event names to use with event :
- army_eikthyr : raid related to the boss Eikthyr.
- army_theelder : Raid related to boss: The Ancient.
- army_bonemass : Raid related to the boss Bonemass.
- army_moder : Raid related to the boss Moder.
- foresttrolls : a flood of trolls.
- blobs, skeletons, wolves, bats, surtlings : waves of creatures of the specified type.
The “Real” Cheat Codes
Here is a list of commands to help you progress quickly and cheat openly. First, enable cheat mode with devcommands in the console, then type the command of your choice.

| god | Enables invincibility mode. Your character will no longer take any damage in combat (note: drowning and certain falls may still be fatal, depending on the game version). |
| ghost | Makes you invisible to enemies. Creatures can no longer spot you. |
| killall | Kill all the creatures and enemies around you. |
| heal | Get your life back to its best. |
| puke | Instantly restore your health, hunger, and stamina to their maximum levels. |
| tame | Instantly tame all nearby animals. |
| exploremap | Reveal the entire world map. |
| resetmap | Resets map exploration (the fog of war returns). |
| raiseskill [skill] [niveau] | Levels up the selected skill to the specified level. Example: raiseskill Run 50 for the race, or raiseskill Swords 80 for the sword. |
| resetskill [skill] | Resets a specific skill to zero. |
| resetcharacter | Resets all of your character's skills. |
| spawn [nom] [quantité] [niveau] | Summon the requested object or creature. Examples: spawn Wood 50 for 50 pieces of wood, spawn SwordIron for an iron sword, or spawn Troll 1 2 for a level 2 troll. |
| removedrops | Removes all items dropped on the ground around you. |
| sleep | Just sleep through the night, as if you were asleep. |
| fly | Allows your character to fly freely (requires debug mode to be enabled). |
| players [nombre] | Simulates a certain number of players to adjust the difficulty. Enemies gain health just like in multiplayer. players 1 resets to the default solo difficulty. |
| wind [angle] [intensité] | Adjusts the wind angle and strength (useful for navigation). |
| resetwind | Resets the wind to its default values. |
| freefly | Enables the free camera, which is handy for taking photos and videos. |
Server and Multiplayer Commands
These commands are useful if you're playing on a server Valheim with other players. They allow you to manage connections and moderate the game.
- kick [userid/ip] : Kicks a player from the server. Replaces [userid/ip] by the player's ID or address.
- ban [userid/ip] : Bans a player. They will no longer be able to join the server.
- unban [userid/ip] : Lifts the ban on a banned player.
- banned : Displays a list of players who have been banned from the server.
- ping : Displays the current ping for your connection to the server.
