What is the origin of the Euro?
This is a Championship created in 1956 according to the design of Henri Delaunay of the 1927. Opposing the countries of the European Union, it takes place every four years like the World Cup (with an interval of 2 years between the two). Its first edition appeared in 1960, but it was only in 1968 that was renamed Championship of Europe. Then at the beginning of the years 1980, this name has simply been abbreviated as Euro, which appears on the official logo of the championship from 1996.
