In what chronological order should we watch Baki?
For someone unfamiliar with Baki, it can be complicated to know where to start. But don't panic! We'll explain the order in which to discover the animation for the best possible experience.
1. Baki the Grappler (Season 1) - 2001
The first season of Baki the Grappler (2001) is your starting point. During the 24 episodes You'll meet the saga's protagonist: Baki Hanma.
The latter is immersed in his quest for surpass Yujiro Hanmahis own father, who is labelled "the strongest being in the world".
His debut in the world of martial arts was marked by his participation in the Underground Arenaa tournament bringing together experienced fighters. The young prodigy begins his initiation.

2. Baki the Grappler (Season 2) - 2001
We move straight on to the season 2 of Baki The Grappler (2001). After his defeat by his father at the end of season 1, Baki is determined to become stronger.
To achieve this, he is stepping up a gear by entering the Maximum Tournament. Through this season of 24 episodes that Baki will be confronted with a rich variety of fighting styles.
He will learn to develop a fighting method that adapts to all othersall with the same objective in mind: to take revenge on his father.

3. Baki The Grappler: The Ultimate Fighter - 1994
Afterwards, we invite you to take a step back in time to see the 45min OVA entitled "The Ultimate Fighter (1994).
Why do you ask? Quite simply because the content adapted in this OVA is a condensed version of the Hanayama bow adapted in season 1.
However, there's still something to be said for seeing it. After all, it adapts several elements of the manga that have not been retained for season 1.

4. Baki: Most Evil Death Row Convicts - 2016

This saga features five dangerous criminals sentenced to death who have escaped from prison to take on the best fighters in the world.
So this OVA introduces them to us and teases their arrival in Japan, where Baki's characters find themselvespromising a series of epic battles.

5. Baki (Season 1) - 2018
In Baki (2018)we find Baki in the Great Prison Battle Sagawhere he decides to be incarcerated in order to confront Cookie Olivaconsidered the strongest being in the world behind Yujiro.
Then, from episode 7 onwards, the anime covers the arc Most Evil Death Row Convictsintroduced in 2016 via a 15-minute OVA.
The second part (19 to 26) adapts the Great Ratai Tournament. Baki decides to travel to China to confront to Chinese martial arts mastersknowing that Yujiro will be present...

6. Baki (Season 2) - 2020
The season 2 of Baki (2020)shorter, with only 13 episodesbegins by concluding the Great Ratai Tournament arc begun in the previous season (episodes 1 to 6).
From here, a new narrative section opens up: the "Godlike Clash of the Kidsreferring to the confrontation between the sons of Yujiro Hanma (Baki) and Mohammed Ali (Ali Jr).
This season marks the introduction of a new fighting style Ali Jr. Based on boxing, it shines for its elegance and codified look, based on dodging and counter-attacking.

7. Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre (Season 1) - 2021
Baki fans won't have long to wait. Yes, the sequel to Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre would be launched in 2021 for a period of 12 episodes.
We have the right to adapt Pickle Wars Sagawhere the super-powered prehistoric warrior Pickle arrives in Japan. Naturally all Baki fighters will want to test themselves against him.
At the same time Strongest Father and Child Quarrel Saga starts in episode 9, when Baki prepares for his duel with his father Yujiro by developing a new technique inspired by insect movements...

8. Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre (Season 2) - 2023
Finally, the season 2 of Baki Hanma: Son of Ogre begins by completing the Pickle Wars Saga. The prehistoric warrior leaves behind him Baki stronger than ever before confronting his father.
The rest of the season (episodes 14 to 27) is entirely devoted to the Strongest Father and Child Quarrel Saga, where Baki will face his father Yujiro aka the strongest being in the world.
