In November 2022, Warner CEO David Zaslav announced his desire to relaunch the Harry Potter franchise.
This statement sparked concern among fans, especially since the announcement of a Harry Potter reboot as a series was made a few months later.
However, prior to this announcement, the franchise had already been relaunched with Fantastic Animalsoriginally released in 2016. In fact, this saga is in first place in terms of order to watch Harry Potter movies.
The fate of parts 4 and 5, according to Yates
Warner has entrusted David Yates, director of the last four films in the Harry Potter saga, with the task of directing the first film in this new saga. The first three films on The Fantastic Beasts, although directed by Yates, did not achieve the expected success. Notably, the third installmentFantastic Beasts: Dumbledore's Secretsreleased in 2022, underperformed at the box office, putting the saga in jeopardy.

Although parts 4 and 5 of the saga had been announced, they still haven't gone into production. According to Yates, Fantastic Animals are paused, moving forward as it were:
"We are very proud of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, but when it came out, we all needed to take a break, relax a little. No one told us there would be five movies. I'm sure we'll be back one day. But for now, we're taking a break."
An indeterminate future for Fantastic Animals

Both suites, The Fantastic Beasts 4 and 5 have been postponed indefinitely by Warner Bros. Although David Yates has not completely ruled out the possibility of making them, the plans of Warner Bros. and author J.K. Rowling remain unknown. The priority now seems to be the series, which will span seven seasons, one for each book, over a period of ten years.
