You don't want to hide your character's head with goggles, masks and hats, but you do want to get the bonuses from each gear. This is simple, just go to your wizard's inventory, then modify his appearance, you will be able to use skins obtained in chests or via missions. But for glasses, masks and hats, you have an option on the far left to make it invisible.
To activate the transmog, go to your inventory, then click on the equipment you want to modify, then click on X (Xbox) or the square button (PS5).
It's the crossed out red circle, you get the equipment bonuses but it won't be visible when you play, to take full advantage of your wizard in Hogwarts Legacy.
The concern is that each time you change hats, you will have to modify your appearance so that it does not appear on your character.
