Master of the Grid will no longer be available in July 2026: the game has been taken down by its creator, and there is no replacement version. The official website has decided to stop offering the game, and the developer has stopped creating mini-games. Originally, the multiplatform games Those of this type were appreciated for their accessibility. Master of the Grid was an online trivia game focused on general knowledge, accessible directly from the web, with no subscription required and no need to install anything. The concept: a host asks the questions, and players take turns giving their answers.
Each player started the game with three hearts and lost one for every wrong answer. The player who ended up with one heart remaining won the game: they played until there was only one player left. It was a great way to test your knowledge with friends, without any cutthroat competition.
The game's website required a connection via Twitter : Your Twitter username had to appear on the site in order to start participating and unlock the game. That interface no longer exists, and we were unable to find a playable archived version.

Master of the grid game sequence
First and foremost, an important clarification: Master of the Grid will no longer be available in July 2026. The game has been taken down from its creator's website, the studio Sparklin Labs, and no playable archived version could be found online. The following, therefore, describes how the game worked, for those who are curious or nostalgic.
It was an online multiplayer quiz game that could be played directly on the website, with no installation required. It was mainly used by streamers. Twitch or YouTubers to play live with their community. The person who started the game became the host, and viewers could come sit on set to participate.
Each player had to answer questions that the host read aloud; the questions remained on the screen for everyone to see. A correct answer allowed the player to continue until they were the last one left in the game. The game board could accommodate up to 83 players at a time.

A wrong answer cost the player a heart. On the second mistake, the player lost their second-to-last heart; on the third, they were eliminated from the game until the next round.
In the image above, the questions appeared after a short pause: in this case, the answer was Brazil (including French Guiana), but you probably already knew that. The correct answer was then displayed, as shown below.

When there was only one person left, all you had to do was click on them to see who had won the game.

How do you create your own game?
When the game was still online, you could create your own game on Master of the Grid required at least 5 players to start. Here are the steps members followed to start a game as a host:
- You were supposed to log in via Twitter on the game's website. Once you logged in, a chat room with your Twitter username should have appeared on the site. If you didn't have a username yet, a pseudo generator could help you find one quickly.
- All you had to do was click on that lobby: you'd see the same interface as when you were a player. An additional option appeared in the lower right corner, allowing you to open the game screen whenever you wanted to play a game.
- Once the forum was open, players could click on your game and start getting ready to participate in the Q&A.
- To finish the game, all you had to do was click "Cancel.".
This mode allowed any member of the community to become a host for the duration of a game. Today, these steps are no longer applicable, as the official website has disabled the game.
How can two people play Master of the Grid?
Master of the Grid was, from the very beginning, an online multiplayer trivia game: a host would start a round, and then the other players would join the game by logging in via Twitter. No local “Two-Player” option has been documented in the available sources.
To play with two or more people, one player had to open the game board on the website, share the game link, and each participant had to join that same room using their own username. Since the service was disabled by Sparklin Labs, this feature is no longer available.
