The tower of stone, of brilliance, of illusion is an illusory tower in Elden Ring which remains invisible until you solve the mystery of the ghostly emblems.

To make it appear, you must activate three hidden seals around its location on the Altus board. Once you’ve touched all three emblems, the illusory tower materializes and you can enter it.

Location of the Illusory Tower in Elden Ring

The tower of stone, of brilliance, of illusion (Mirage Rise (in the original version) is located west of the Altus Plateau, in the Middle Lands of’Elden Ring. To reach the Illusory Tower, start at the “Altus Plateau Summit” grace point and head west.

On your map, the tower is located just northwest of the ruins of Lux, on the edge of the plateau. When you arrive, all you see is a pedestal and an inscription on the ground: this is normal—the illusory tower remains invisible until the riddle of the emblems is solved.

How to Solve the Mystery of the Phantom Emblems

The riddle of the emblems is the key to unlocking this illusory tower in Elden Ring. Three seals are hidden around the tower's location. Here is a step-by-step walkthrough for finding and activating each emblem.

First emblem: right in front of the base

The first seal is located right next to the inscription pedestal, slightly to the south. You’ll see it as soon as you reach the Illusory Tower. Walk up to it and interact with it. The emblem disappears once activated—that’s the sign that the puzzle has begun.

Second emblem: behind the statue on the west side

The second seal is located just behind the statue standing to the west of the tower. Follow the rocks westward from the base of the statue. Just behind the statue, you’ll find a ghost emblem lying on the ground. Interact with it to activate it. If you don’t see anything on your first pass, take a step back: the emblems are easier to spot from a distance.

Third emblem: the striking rock

The third seal is the hardest to find. It is hidden behind a rock northeast of the Illusory Tower. This rock looks just like any other rock in the area.

Hit it with your weapon: it will shatter and reveal the ghost emblem. Then interact with the seal to activate it. This is often where players get stuck in this walkthrough, since nothing in the game indicates that you need to hit that specific rock.

Once all three emblems are activated, the illusory tower appears immediately. Climb to the top to collect the loot.

Loot from the Illusory Tower: Indiscernible Blade and Indiscernible Form

Once you've solved the puzzle, climb to the top of the tower to open the chest. It contains two rewards.

Indistinguishable Blade : a spell that makes your weapon invisible for a short time. In combat, your opponent can no longer read your moves or anticipate the shape of your weapon. The Indiscernible Blade is particularly useful in PvP in Elden Ring, or for any stealth-oriented build.
Indistinguishable form : a second spell that makes your character partially invisible. The Indiscernible Form and Indiscernible Blade spells make a formidable combination for invasion builds.
5 sleeping eggs : an item found in that same chest, useful for putting certain enemies to sleep.

This loot isn't geared toward farming, but the indistinguishable blade and indistinguishable shape are two of the game's most original spells for players looking to enhance a stealth or invasion playstyle.

Common Problems with the Illusory Tower

Several players have reported being unable to reach the tower or solve the puzzle. Here are the most common causes.

You can't see the tower—that's normal. It remains invisible until all three emblems are activated. There are no known bugs related to this.
If you can't find the third emblem, look for the rock to strike in the northeast. If you can't reach that seal, step back a few meters from the illusory tower and scan the ground in that area.
If an emblem doesn't seem to be responding, make sure you're in the right spot. If the emblem still doesn't activate, leave the area and return via a site of grace.

There are no reported critical bugs related to this illusory tower in Elden Ring. Almost all of the problems stem from the third seal and the rock that must be struck.
