Update 6.00 Highlights

Hello, Raiders!

Update 6.00 will be one of the biggest and most important of 2022, and we are happy to give you a preview before it goes live. One feature will be in the spotlight today: awakening.
In case you haven't been following our series What's Next In Raid or missed the recent update previews on YouTube, Awakening is a new mechanic that will empower your champions and give them access to incredibly powerful passive skills called Blessings. Even better, you will have great freedom in choosing these blessings.

We're also adding a challenging new dungeon, the Fortress of the Iron Twins, where you'll have to battle the terrifying Guardian Golem to obtain the Soul Coins and Soul Essence you'll need to awaken your champions. And on top of that, we'll also be adding another champion and skin balance patch for everyone's favorite Barbarian Queen, Scyl of the Drakes!

Keep reading if you want to know more.

awakening

As we've already published a comprehensive guide to the basic mechanics of The Awakening, we won't go into detail in the highlights this time around; instead, we'll include the video at the end for those of you who want to take an in-depth tour.

In short, Awakening is a new feature reminiscent of both Champion Ascension and Masteries. You can use your champions' souls to awaken them and access Blessings, powerful passive skills that provide a host of bonuses, like stat boosts and unique effects that can revolutionize your tactics. Imagine being able to turn your enemies into sheep, rain a meteor storm on their heads, gain a turn counter every time you take a debuff, and more.

Blessings will be divided into 4 Deities (War, Chaos, Light, Dark) and 3 Rarities (Rare, Epic, Legendary). Champions are limited by their own rarity when choosing blessings, which means legendary champions can choose whatever they want, but rare champions can only choose rare blessings. On the other hand, you can choose the Divinity you want, and you can change Blessing at any time. The first time is free, and subsequent changes will require Gems.

Awakening a champion requires Perfect or Split Souls belonging to that specific champion, which can be obtained from Soul Stones or from the Soul Trader in the Altar of Souls. Champions must be ascended before they can be awakened, and increasing their awakening level enhances their chosen blessing.

Perfect Souls will awaken the champion at their exact level without having to go through obstacles, while Split Souls can only work if the champion has already been awakened at a level just below their own (e.g. a Tier 4 Split Soul for a Valkyrie will require a Tier 3 Valkyrie to work).

Soulstones are mortal, immortal, and eternal types. The better the Soul Stone, the more likely you are to receive high level Perfect Souls. You can buy them at the Mystic Market for Soul Coins. You can also wishlist up to 9 champions (3 for each rarity) as most wanted, which doubles the chances of summoning their souls from soul stones. Split Souls can be purchased from the Soul Trader and require Soul Essence. Visit the merchant as often as possible to get what you need!

That's the gist of it, but you can watch our update preview for a much more detailed breakdown of Awakening, Blessings, and everything else you need to know.

The Fortress of the Iron Twins

The Fortress of the Iron Twins is a new dungeon that we will introduce as part of Awakening. This is where you will get Soul Coins and Soul Essence. There are a few important points to note about this particular dungeon. First of all, Iron Twin Fortress will be available in different affinities, which will open on a specific schedule (like Affinity Dungeons), and completing one Affinity does not automatically unlock the others' stages. This is important, because the Boss becomes stronger if you bring along Champions of a different affinity than yours.

Secondly, you will need to consider your champions stats and overall composition of your team even more than usual. Some of the twins' skills target champions based on a specific stat, and you'll need to keep that in mind.

Check out the full guide that explains all the Iron Twins skills and tips on how to deal with them!
