Where to find the Guardian of the World Tree in Elden Ring ?

These two boss units are located in the Catacombs of the World Tree Mineur, located north of Liurnia, the lake that lies to the north of Limgrave. To get there, follow the cliff to the northeast of the lake until you see the entrance to the catacombs, carved into the rock. Follow the path inside until you reach the boss chamber at the far end.

There are other variants of this boss in the game: the Putrid Watcher, the Frenzied Duelist, and the Funereal Cerberus of the World Tree. Each area of the game hides its own version of this avatar. At Caelid, for example, you'll come across much more aggressive guards.

Overview of the Two boss Models

the Wizard Watcher It mainly attacks from a distance. It fires magical projectiles and can unleash area-of-effect flames. Its attacks take time to charge, giving you time to get out of the way.

the Sword-Wielding Watchman is the duo's melee fighter. He unleashes a rapid-fire series of sword strikes and can charge over short distances. He's most dangerous when you approach him without caution.

Both avatars of the World Tree share the same weakness: they are slow to reposition themselves. This is their most exploitable common trait in this battle.

My Tips for Defeating the Wizard Watcher and the Swordsman Watcher

Start by invoking your spirit ashes

As soon as you enter the room, summon your spirit ashes before engaging the enemy. A solid summon will pin one of the World Tree’s two avatars while you deal with the other. This is the best way to avoid getting caught between both boss at the same time.

An NPC may also be available to help you, depending on your progress in the game. Check for a summoning mark at the entrance to room boss.

Separate the two watchmen right from the start

Don't rush into the middle. Stay on the edge of the room to draw out only one of the two sentinels at a time. Focus all your damage on that first boss and ignore the other one. Once the first one is down, the fight against the remaining sentinel becomes much easier.

Kept her distance and was penalized after every attack

Distance is your greatest asset in this fight. Let them come at you, dodge their attacks, and then strike during the opening that follows. Area-of-effect spells are particularly effective here: their slow casting time gives you plenty of time to cast each spell safely.

If you're fighting in close combat, stay behind each boss after every dodge. Land two or three hits, then step back. Never stand still in the middle of the pair.

What to Avoid

Don't let yourself get cornered in a corner of the room. In an enclosed space, you'll have to take hits from both guards at the same time, and you'll go down very quickly. Keep moving at all times.

Also, don't panic when both bosss fire at the same time. In that moment, move back diagonally so you don't take both hits in a row.

Useful Items and Equipment

Items that increase your resistance to magical damage are useful against the wizard. A talisman that protects against fire helps you withstand the wizard's explosions without losing too much health.

Also, be sure to have some Estus Flasks in reserve for the second phase of the battle, once the first boss has been defeated.

Battle Reward

Defeating the two avatars of the World Tree in the Catacombs of the Lesser World Tree will earn you the Demented Pumpkin Head Ashes. These spirit ashes summon a ghost that can serve as a distraction in other battles in the game.
