How to make a TikTok with photos and texts?

Do you want to create a video TikTok based on your photos and add some text ? You can do this right in the app, without any external tools.

• Open TikTok
• Press the button +, select Upload To import your images from your gallery
• Add your text once the assembly is complete

Create a TikTok with photos

There are two ways to combine your photos in the app:

• the Carousel mode (swipeable slideshow)
• the traditional video editing.

Since 2022, TikTok offers a dedicated mode for posting images directly to the feed. Content creators are using it more and more, similar to what’s available on YouTube Shorts or Facebook Reels.

Carousel Mode (swipeable photos)

the Carousel mode turns multiple photos into a slideshow that people can scroll through with their finger, just like on Instagram. It's the perfect solution for creators who want to tell a short story frame by frame.

1. Open the app and tap the button + at the bottom of the screen.
2. Select the tab Upload, then the tab Photos.
3. Click on the gallery in the lower-left corner of the screen.

4. Choose your images from your gallery in the desired order.

5. Press Next : TikTok automatically compiles them into a slideshow.
6. Add a music, effects, or filters, if you'd like.

Traditional video editing using photos

If you prefer a real one video with transitions Instead of a slideshow, use video editing. Import your photos from your gallery, you set the duration from each one, and you'll end up with a smooth video. The built-in editing tools let you adjust everything without leaving the app.

1. Press the + at the bottom center of the home screen.
2. Choose Upload, then select your photos (and videos, if needed) from your gallery.
3. Confirm your selection, then adjust the duration of each frame and add the background music of your choice.
4. Press Adjust the clip to sync your photos with the beat of the music.
5. When you're satisfied with the edit, press Next, then Publish.

Tip: Pay close attention to the beginning of your video to grab viewers' attention right away. A strong visual message in the first few seconds generates far more views.

Add text on TikTok

Once your montage is ready, the’adding text is done entirely within the app using the built-in tools. Here's how to do it:

1. Tap the icon Text (Aa) at the bottom of the editing screen.

2. Type your message, then place it where you want it by dragging it with your finger.

3. Valid with Completedat top right.

You can then customize the appearance of each text block using the options displayed:

• The background color, by tapping the icon A’.
• L'alignment (left, center, or right), using the superimposed lines.
• The police, by choosing from the available options (Classic, Typewriteretc.).
• The text color, by selecting a color from the palette.

Set the text display duration

By default, the text remains visible throughout the entire video. To pin a message to a specific point in time, tap your text box, then tap Set the duration. A timeline A window with two sliders opens: drag them to choose exactly when the text appears and disappears.

Creators use this feature to have their posts scroll in time with the music. It's more engaging and easier for viewers to understand.

Have someone read your text aloud

TikTok also offers a feature Script (text-to-speech). Tap your text field, then tap Script : A synthetic voice will immediately read your message aloud. This is a solution widely used by creators to tell a story and capture attention without having to film themselves.

Similar features can be found on YouTube and Facebook, which shows that the format has become indispensable.
