Traveling is a moment that allows you to escape and discover the world. Yet, as always, danger lurks everywhere. You have decided to visit Cuba! But you wonder if it's a dangerous country? Here is some useful information on the dangers and precautions to consider when traveling to Cuba.

WHAT ARE THE DANGERS PRESENT ON CUBAN TERRITORY?
A low crime rate
Like many other countries in the world, Cuba is not spared a few dangers. But it is not a particularly dangerous country. This is reflected in the very low crime rate.
Travelers to Cuba can still fall victim to the high incidence of theft in some of the country's cities. So it's important to respect the security measures that make travelling around Cuba a pleasure.
Natural disasters
In addition to the various kinds of man-made hazards, the country is most often hit by natural disasters. The hurricane season, for example, usually runs from July to November.
Travelling to Cuba outside this season not only makes you feel more at ease, but also allows you to get around without much fear. There are also other natural disasters such as floods, droughts, earthquakes and especially tornadoes.
WHAT ARE THE PRECAUTIONS TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT WHEN TRAVELING TO CUBA?
All travelers are therefore invited to comply with the various measures and rules in force in this country, but also those required by the Cuban health authorities. In addition, all French nationals on Cuban territory and travelers must exercise maximum vigilance to avoid the risks associated with the attacks. These different recommendations take into account all the bad situations that can arise in this country.

WHAT ARE THE DOCUMENTS NEEDED TO TRAVEL TO CUBA?
Passport
Like all other Latin American countries, access to Cuban territory requires certain very important documents for any traveler. Thus, anyone wishing to travel to Cuba for tourism and stay there for a maximum of 30 days must be in possession of a valid passport. The period of validity of this passport must be greater than that of the stay.
Visa or tourist card
For tourist or other reasons, it is above all essential to have a visa/tourist card and a one-way ticket return. This tourist card is issued for a fee by agencies or by the Cuban Embassy located in your country of origin (France). You can also apply for the card online and get it by email.
No Covid test or vaccine needed
The good news is that whatever your vaccination status, you can fly to Cuba without any problem. Also note that you do not have to perform a PCR test before departure. The only thing you need is your visa, also called tourist card. On the other hand, this possibility constitutes a real problem, if you are afraid of catching the coronavirus during your stay!
