How the Collection Challenge with Metamorph and the «Let’s GO!» Field Research Quest Work in Pokémon Go

The Event Let's GO! took place from Tuesday, March 21 to Wednesday, March 29, 2023, with a launch on San Francisco.

Niantic suggested this Collection Challenge about the hunt for Shapeshifter, along with a field study special event available to all players.

To complete the challenge, you must catch the following four Pokémon during the event:

• Shapeshifter (Ditto), hidden among other Pokémon
• Feuillajou (Pansage), the Grass-type Pokémon
• Flamajou (Pansear), the Fire-type Pokémon
• Flotajou (Panpour), the Water-type Pokémon

These challenges wrap up quickly—might as well finish them first. By completing them, you’ll trigger appearances of Feuillajou, Flamajou and Flotajou, which directly count toward the Collection Challenge.

These three Pokémon can also appear in the shiny (chromatic). Complete several missions at the same time to make sure you get them all.

Here are the tasks to complete and their rewards:

• Capture 3 Shape-shifters : interview with Feuillajou, Flamajou Where Flotajou
• Capture 10 Pokémon : 10 Poké Balls
• Capture 12 Pokémon : 15 Super Balls
• Exchange 15 Pokémon : 10 Poké Balls

Catching the Metamorph in the «Let’s GO!» Collection Challenge in Pokémon GO

The toughest part of the challenge is unmasking Shapeshifter. It never appears in its true form on the map, but hides behind the appearances of other Pokémon.

You didn't realize it was him until after the capture was complete.

To find it, be sure to catch these Pokémon whenever you see one:

• Mole catcher (Diglett)
• Tadmorv (Grimer)
• Snubbull
• Scraper (Corphish)
• Staralili
• Nodulite (Roggenrola)
• Tritonde (Tympole)
• Hélionceau (Litleo)

To maximize your chances, stock up on Poké Balls before you get started. The more catches you make in a row, the sooner you'll come across a Shiny Metamorph or its standard version.

Once the Collection Challenge Done! You win 5,000 XP and an Encounter with Meltan, the star of the event.
