You will probably need the Thunderbrew potion in Hogwarts Legacy during a difficult encounter.

What is the effect of the Thunderbrew potion?
You will immediately see thunderstorms surround you upon taking a sip of this potion. These thunderstorms will have a stun effect and damage nearby enemies for 30 seconds. Although its duration is very short, this effect of the Thunderbrew potion can be very useful for controlling crowds. To get it during a fight in Hogwarts Legacy, you have to hold down L1 and choose the potion, then press L1 to use it.
Get Thunderbrew Potion Recipe and Ingredients
The recipe for this potion can be purchased for 1200 Galleons from J. Pippin's Potions Shop in Hogsmeade. You'll have the option to travel there with a classmate as part of the main story.
If you don't have enough money to get the recipe, you can try selling any old gear that doesn't have the stats up to snuff. If you haven't unlocked the Room of Requirement yet to use your own Potions Station, you'll need to head to the Potions Classroom for now.
To prepare the potion, you need: 1 leech juice, 1 Abyssinian fig fruit, and 1 smell of death.
Leech Juice can be found as an interactive item on all water surfaces.
