What's more, on TikTok, republications don't appear directly on your profile, but your community on the platform can view them by visiting your account and accessing the dedicated reposts tab, identified by the icon of two spinning arrows.
How to republish a TikTok video
You can do this by following four simple steps:
Find video
Start by opening your TikTok app on your mobile, then select the video you want to republish, whether it's from your "For You" page, your "Friends" news feed, or directly from the original account's profile.
Access the share option
- Open the video in question and look for the share option;
- To find the sharing option, access the "Share" menu, symbolized by a right-pointing arrow, located at the bottom of the screen while the video is playing.
N.B : If you can't locate the "Republish" button, you'll need to update your TikTok application. You may still be using an older version of the social network.
3. Select the "Republish" option
Once you've clicked on the arrow, you'll be presented with a list of options, allowing you to send the video to other accounts or repost it via different applications. Next, locate the "Republish" option, which is the first yellow button on the second line, in the leftmost position.
4. Confirm republication
All you have to do now is click on the "Republish" option. A small white box will immediately appear at the bottom left of the video screen, confirming the success of the republication. It's that simple!
Viewing republications on TikTok: how does it work?
Remember that the videos you've reposted on TikTok are accessible to all your subscribers. They can view them in two distinct ways:
On your profile
Your followers can view the videos you've republished directly on your profile. To do so, they simply need to go to the tab dedicated to reposts. You'll find it in the center of the screen, identified by the "Republish" icon representing two swirling arrows.
On their "For you page
The "Republish" function also serves this purpose: when you republish a TikTok video, it appears on your followers' "For you page". This means they'll also see the videos you've republished among the videos that usually appear on their News Feed.
Can I delete a video republication on TikTok?
So yes, deleting a video repost on TikTok is an accessible process by following these precise steps:
Go to the republished video page
To delete a republished video, i.e. cancel the republication, start by going to the page of the video in question. You can do this by scrolling through your TikTok News Feed to find the video, or by going directly to the profile of the account that shared the content. find a TikTok you've seen but not liked.
Go to your profile
Alternatively, you can go directly to your own profile. Your republications are grouped together in a dedicated tab. To access it, look for the icon represented by the same swirling arrows as the "Republish" option. This tab is located in the center of the screen.
Delete republished video
Once you've found the re-shared video you currently wish to remove from your re-share list, here's what you need to do:
- Open your TikTok app and choose the video you want to delete;
- In the menu that appears, click on the "Delete Republication" button. Sometimes, for reasons of space, this may also appear under the heading "Delete Republica" ;
- After this action, the republication will be cancelled, and the video will be removed from your reposts list.
