The black screen is one of the classic computer operating problems. If your PC is black-screened when you switch it on and you don't know what to do.
Don't panic, in our article we'll show you how to solve this black screen problem on Windows. However, before we look at the latter, let's first see why your computer's screen remains black when you turn it on. What are the solutions to this black screen problem on startup?

When I turn on my PC, the screen stays black?
Several reasons can cause the black screen during startup. Your computer's graphics card may have failed, or the connector on your motherboard may no longer work. The latter happens when your motherboard is old or has a power surge problem. You'll also need to make sure you have a dedicated graphics card and not integrated graphics. Also check if your screen is the problem. You can for example test the cable of your screen with your TV. If it works on another device, your PC screen is either broken or defective. However, your computer may be bugging or experiencing a power surge and this is not necessarily a hardware failure problem. In these cases, you will only have to turn off your computer and then restart it again.
Detect the source of the problem
Before starting to solve your computer's black screen problem, it's important to diagnose the source of the problem. Check that your screen is switched on and that the LED lights up when you press the power button.
If it doesn't light up, there's a wiring problem and the current isn't flowing. You can, for example, test another cable to see if it's the cable that's damaged.
It may also happen that when you switch on your PC, the LED lights up, but the screen doesn't display anything. In this case, you'll need to interpret the various noises made by your computer to detect the problem.
It may be that one of its components is missing, and you'll need to replace it to get it working normally. However, if the light is off, either the plug doesn't work and you'll need to find another socket to plug the computer into, or it's your screen that's faulty and needs to be repaired or replaced.

How to Fix Black Screen Issue on Windows
Before solving the problem too, check that your screen is switched on and that the cables are connected. Sometimes, the screen may not work due to a simple oversight. You can also reconnect your computer and its screen. You can force the shutdown by combining Ctrl + Alt + Delete to make the black screen disappear on Windows.
Don't hesitate to press the Ctrl, Alt and Supp keys several times simultaneously, until your computer responds to the requested action. Once you've switched off, you can unplug the cable that connects your computer to your screen.
You can check the cables for damage. Then reconnect both devices and reboot to see if it worked. Then you can see if it works normally.
