RYTHM CONTROL: how to use it on your Discord server?

Good news: Rythm is back and available in several versions.

Since June 2024, you can use it in two ways on Discord:

• via the classic bot to invite to your server,
• via the new Activity Discord which launches directly into a voice lounge.

Both are free, with a Premium option at 4.99 $/month. In this guide, we cover both versions and all bot commands.

How to use Rythm on Discord?

A reminder The Rythm bot closed in September 2021, before making its comeback in June 2024. It returns in two forms: the historic bot, updated with slash commands (/play, /skip...), and a new Activity Discord integrated directly into your voice salons.

So you can invite it onto your server as before, or launch it directly from a voice lounge. We cover both below, starting with the bot and its commands.

• Legality and stability : no risk of being banned by YouTube,

However, just as before, Rythm comes in two versions: the free version, which lets you enjoy the essentials, and the paid version, which offers additional, more comprehensive features.

1. Before connecting the Rythm bot to your server

Before succeeding in connect Rythm to a server Discord, Here are some necessary prerequisites:

• Be connected to your account Discord via the browser,

2. Connect Rythm to your Discord server

No invitation required for this version. Activité Rythm is already integrated into Discord, ready to use.

How do you launch it?

1. Join a vocal salon.
2. Click on the 🚀 rocket icon in the voice lounge bar.
3. Select Rhythm from the list of available activities.

To note :

In the free version, you cannot create your own session. You can only join the session of a Premium user, or listen to the radios offered by Rythm. To create a session and invite up to 20 people, you need to upgrade to Premium.

a) Rythm command prefix (/)

d) Maximum length of the queue size

This Rythm Premium option allows you to limit the size from the queue. To do this:

1. Type the command/settings.
2. Then look for the option Max Queue Length.
3. By default, it is unlimited and this command is used to impose a limit, namely 10 or 20 songs maximum per user, to prevent abuse!
4. In this image, the number of Max Queue Length authorized is 10.

However, if you use the free version, this option is disabled by default. And although you have the right to configure, the setting will not be applied.

With this in mind, you can:

• Assign the role to members (or a trusted person) DJ,
• Type the ordered /skip to skip to the next track. If multiple members press this command, the unwanted music will automatically skip.
• Or ask users to prepare their playlists in advance for greater control over content. By preparing your playlists on YouTube or Spotify before playing them in the living room, you can avoid gaps between tracks, save time and keep control of the ambience.

e) Maximum number of songs per user

This feature is useful for directors where the DJs may limit the number of songs that users can add to queue at the same time.

Indeed, once Premium Rhythm When enabled, the queue becomes unlimited.

1. To change the maximum number of songs per user, simply type the command /settings.
2. Then look for the option Max User Songs (Premium feature).
3. Select the number of songs you allow per user by clicking on “Edit Max User Songs“.

⚠️ Important note :

You can change this setting in the free version, but it will remain without effect. This option is only taken into account for servers or users subscribed to Premium Rhythm.

f) Remove duplicates from the queue

Also among the benefits of a Premium subscription. To prevent users from posting duplicate music In the queue, you can use one of the following commands:

• /drm
• /rd
• /removed duplicates
• /rmd

g) Configure the DJ role on the server

2. Next, create a new role named DJ, (the role name must be exactly DJ)

h) Resetting settings

1. Use the/settings to display the various options available to you,
2. Click on the last option Reset(or similar),
3. Then select “Yes, reset all" Where "Cancel”if you've changed your mind.

WARNING: this will reset ALL Rythm settings to their default values!
