What is Google One?
Google One is the subscription service of Google which expands your shared storage space between Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos. Each Google account offers these three services in a single location.
By subscribing, you'll move on to 100 GB or more depending on the plan you choose. This storage automatically covers your emails, files, and photos saved in the cloud, without you having to allocate anything manually.

How much storage space does Google One offer?
The 15 GB free The basic ones are divided among Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos. Your files, emails, and photos all use up space from the same storage pool, which is why it fills up quickly.
With a subscription Google One, you can add extra storage space on top of those 15 GB. The amount depends on the plan you choose:
- 100 GB : ideal for light personal use.
- 200 GB : the best value for most people.
- 2 TB : to back up lots of photos, videos, and large files.
If you cancel your subscription or if it expires, your account will revert to 15 GB initial limit. Your data won't be deleted right away, but you won't be able to add any more as long as you exceed this limit. Be sure to sort through your data beforehand to avoid blocking the sending of new emails or photos.
How do I use Google One?

Paying annually is always cheaper than the monthly rate. The old very-high-capacity plans (10 To, 20 TB and 30 TB) were removed by Google in 2024.

Can you share your Google One subscription?
Yes, you can share your subscription with 5 members of your family as much as possible, at no additional cost. So that makes 6 people in total that share the same storage space.
Sharing is based on the Google family group. You can add or remove members at any time from one.google.com. If you already have a family group set up, the plan is automatically shared with existing members without any additional setup.
