Netflix is currently one of the most popular streaming platforms. Founded in 1997 by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph, Netflix started out as a cassette rental company. Since then, the platform's sales have grown steadily, reaching over $25 billion in 2020. As Netflix is now located in several countries, it's important to note that it's entirely possible to change the language of the platform.
Netflix: the most popular streaming platform
For a while now, the expression "Netflix & chill" has been taking the Internet by storm. The expression means Netflix and chill. Subscribers use the term to make their story or to express themselves with friends.
Indeed, for some years now, subscribers have preferred to spend the remainder of their days by their screens watching Netflix's popular films, series and even documentaries. The reason is quite simply that the platform offers catalogs of popular programs to suit all tastes.
It doesn't matter whether you prefer to weep over romantic dramas or let yourself be overwhelmed by adventures, action and horror films. In fact, there are even cartoons, sports and reality shows that can be watched at any time of day.
However, taking advantage of this benefit is not free. To watch Netflix programs, you need a subscription and an Internet connection. The platform offers three distinct types of subscription.
Basic Netflix is a single-screen subscription. To benefit from it, you need to pay €8.99 and have a minimum connection speed of 3Mbps. For a standard subscription, the connection speed must be at least 5Mbps.
For €13.49, you can watch programs in HD on 2 different screens. The last type of subscription is Netflix Premium, where you can watch programs in 4K Ultra HD on 4 screens for €17.99. Your connection speed must be at least 25 Mbps.
How to Change Netflix Language
Language changes are made differently on the Netflix application and on access via search engine.
Changing language from official site
To reach the change language setting on Netflix.com, you must do the following: after accessing the official sites, you must select successively on “Account” and “profile” before selecting “Language”. You will then have two choices:
- Selecting a language in "TV Show & Movie Languages" will change the language of the dubbing and subtitles.
- Selecting a language in "Display languages" will change the display language.
You must then confirm your choice by pressing “Save”.
Language change if you have the Netflix app
If you have an iOS device, smartphone or Android tablet, you can download the Netflix app from Google Play Store. However, changing the language will be done differently on this application.
To do this, first access the application and select the blue profile icon or the three superimposed lines. Then choose the "Manage profiles" option before selecting the profile you wish to modify. When the next window opens, you can choose between :
- Display languages if you want to change the display language.
- Languages for audio and subtitles if you want to change the language of dubbing and subtitles.
Then, all you have to do is select the language of your choice. Registration will be done automatically.
