How to Install the French Patch for Deltarune 2026

Deltarune is available in several languages by default (English, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese), but not in French. The only solution is to install a free community patch, available at deltarune-fr.com.

This patch currently covers the Chapters 1 and 2. Since June 5, 2025, Deltarune was also released on Steam including chapters 1 through 4; the translation of the rest will follow later.

Deltarune is a Independent RPG created by Toby Fox, the father of’Undertale. Like its predecessor, it has no official French translation, which is why the fan-made patch.

1. Download the FR patch to put Deltarune in French

There is no option in the game settings to switch to French. Go to https://deltarune-fr.com and download the version that matches your PC's operating system.

The patch is intended for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Be sure to choose the file that's right for your computer.

1. Open the location of the downloaded folder.

On Windows, the file usually ends up directly in the folder Downloads.

2. Make a right click to extract file.

3. Once the extraction is complete, you'll get Deltarune Patch FR Installer.

Your antivirus may block the installer, but it's just a false positive. Turn it off during installation, then turn it back on afterward.

2. Patch Deltarune to French

Once you've retrieved the file, move on to the’Installing the FR patch. Here are the steps :

1. Launch the’Deltarune Patch FR Installer to start the installation.

2. The installer asks you to Select the folder location of your game.

3. Locate the Deltarune folder via Steam, that's the easiest way:

• Open your library on Steam.
• Make a right-click on Deltarune.
• Hover your mouse over “Manage”.
• Click on “Browse local files”.

4. Copy the path the location of the displayed file in the local files.

5. Go back to the’Deltarune Patch FR Installer, states the path from the folder, then click “Select Folder”.

6. Finally, click on “Start the installation” to apply the patch.

3. Test the patched Deltarune on your PC

Once you've followed all the steps, the game should normally Localized into French. Open your library Steam and throws Deltarune.

If the game remains in English, the patch was probably applied to the wrong folder. Try again right-click on Deltarune in Steam, select “Browse local files”, then restart the installer by selecting the on the right track.

You can also put Undertale in French thanks to a similar community-developed patch.
